Chris Brown – Till I Die f. Big Sean & Wiz Khalifa

So today was District finals, our 4x2 4x1 and our hurdler were in it. Chelsea (the hurdler was in all three.) She got first place in the 100H and is going to Regionals. Our thrower is also going for shot put and discus, but for the past two years she has been the only one to go to regionals, and state. Chelsea was the first girl to make it to regionals in a running event since 2002. Our 4x2 order goes Chelsea-Tasmine-Me-Alexis. We weren’t in a good position when I got the baton and I had a lot of ground to make up. I tried, and ran a really good split and we finished in 4th which got us our spot to regionals. our 4x1 was amazing the finish was really scary, we almost got passed by another team but finished in fourth. I was running back to my exchange zone area and noticed a red flag had be held up. My heart sank I was worried, I was hoping it wasn’t us, because not only were we going to regionals but we broke the school’s record. Over the loud speaker you hear “Painesville Harvey Head coach report to the Timing Tent” Instantly I knew it was us. I was devastated, after our coach got back I asked him he said we were a HALF A STEP BEFORE the exchange zone. HALF OF A STEP!! so not only were we disqualified and not able to go to regionals the record that we “held” doesn’t count.  It was really terrible for me because I feel like it was my fault because I have always been the weakest link on the 4x1 and it showed today.. But I am still proud of all of our accomplishments this year and can’t wait to carry on the rest of the year.
